November Rain

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

November rock ballad by Guns-n-Roses and also today's weather. Showers, drizzle, mist & even an occasional downpour at times. The steadier showers fall from 9:30 until 2pm with most towns picking up between .10-.50" of rain. The storm drains will be able to handle that amount of rain by itself unless that drain happens to be clogged with leaves....could be some large puddles on some of the roads midday today. The other component of this storm is the wind. That's with us the entire day and will be fiesty as most towns see wind gusts between 35-45mph and that will likely lead to some small branches snapping/breaking. The good news with this wind is that it's a warm wind so even though it's a November Rain, those temps will reach the low 70s with ease---more like early May.

This storm quickly sweeps through here tonight taking the strongest wind & shower threat with it but will leave behind clouds & mild temps. This mild air will hang with us for Saturday as well so that Rolling Rally slated for tomorrow will be mild with temps in the low 60s under a mostly cloudy sky--much nicer than the 2004 Rolling Rally (That year it was 45 with a driving rainstorm). Sunday will be colder with daytime temps only in the upper 40s. Also on Sunday is a return to early sunsets....sunset on Sunday is 4:35.

Have a great weekend!

50/50 Weekend

Posted by Chris Lambert

We're off to an iffy start to the weekend as nuisance rain and wet snow moves across the area.  While it's not a well organized area of low pressure, it develops right near us midday, and that'll be enough for a tricky forecast.  Light to moderate  rain/snow is on and off early this morning with a heavier burst of precipitation possible late morning, through mid afternoon in eastern MA (11:00AM-3:00PM).

Final Days

Posted by Pete Bouchard

That's the way to get it done! Fine finish to the workweek as sun dominated and winds behaved.

I submit that is the one - and perhaps only - reason these days have felt springlike in this extended thaw. If the winds were gusty on a day like today, the sun (albeit a little stronger these days) is really no help.

Great Mid-Winter Weather

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

Nice mid-winter weather? Here's how I envision it:

*Mild temps (40 or higher)

*Little to no wind

That last bullet point (IMO) is probably the biggest when outside this time of year. After our morning fog lifts out of here all three of those criteria will be met this afternoon's Friday. #Winning.

Colder Temperatures Cometh

Posted by Pete Bouchard

As far as blah days go, this was the blahest.

Fog blanketed the area as winds remained light and variable. We're still looking at some fog, but the thickest part of it should only be during the first half of the night. After that, gentle winds should "mix out" some of the heavily fogged in areas.
