Well Deserved

Posted by Chris Lambert

After dealing with dismal weekend after dismal weekend... this weekend, we get a much needed break.   Well deserved as well.

I wouldn't call it a Top 10 weekend, but after what we've been through, we'll take it.

Morning sunshine tends to lose out to more clouds by midday and into the afternoon.  A passing sprinkle or flurry is not out of the question, but much of the time is dry.

As a big ole storm to the NE of us continues to spin it's wheels, just enough instability rotates back into southern New England tonight and early tomorrow to trigger a few snow showers.  North and west of Boston, a few towns may pick up a dusting, but not much more than that.  In fact, any dusting of snow melts by late morning tomorrow as temps head their way up to the 40 degree mark.  A passing rain or snow shower is possible in the afternoon, but again, much of the day is dry.  About 30% of us pick up a rain or snow shower.

Dry weather prevails Monday and Tuesday before we turn our eyes to the south on Wed and Thur.  A mid-Atlantic storm cranks up Wednesday and Thursday, but it remains to be seen how much of an impact we'll see.  I'd bet on lots of clouds, an occasional rain or snow shower, and a strong east wind both days.  Right now, the brunt of the storm looks to slide just south of us, but I wouldn't discount a farther north track just yet.  Certainly worth watching at this point.

Enjoy the weekend!  The skiing is great, and the ski weather works out for us too.  More snow showers fall across northern New England through the weekend, adding to the foot of snow they received from our latest rain-maker.  Temps in the afternoon average in the low to mid 30s for many resorts up north.

Feet First

Right into summer. Warm & humid weather expected for much of the week. Good?.....Well, keep in mind that warmth & humidity are the 2 key ingredients for thunderstorms. The last being something to *lift* that warm/humid air. Usually a front is a good device to do such that. Today, we will have a cool front approach New England very late in the day & evening. That may lead to an isolated storm or two after 4pm but most towns just have a fair amount of clouds, warmth & humidity. Temps will climb to near 80 by afternoon.

Warming Up and Unsettled

Posted by Chris Lambert

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east.  Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity.  It'll also be unsettled at times.

Pulling The Fade

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds.  As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening.  Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening.  Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers.  These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Back and Forth

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70.  Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.
