Everyone Knows It's Windy

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

A classic tune by The Association and also the title of this blog. Some fierce wind out there early this morning.

Here's a sampling of some of the wind gusts from very early Thursday morning---enough to wake me up! As we step through the day the wind will still be with us---and still a bit of an issue for the morning hours, occasionally gusting to 45mph. By afternoon, the numbers will come down a little but you'll still notice the wind. That wind won;t completely fade away until 4-5pm. The reason for the wind is a storm leaving behind a big bag of dry air, so look for mostly sunny skies through the day and temps will still be above normal for this time of year--mid 40s.

Looking into the next few days, not much new to report on as our January Thaw  will roll through the weekend keeping daytime highs in the 40s & low 50s with overnight lows in the 30s. The mild weather comes with a price---clouds. Both weekend days offer a lot of clouds but it will stay dry despite those clouds.

Missing winter?!?......no worries, colder weather is set to return next week and that may involve a messy storm next Tuesday-Wednesday.

Pulling The Fade

Posted by Chris Lambert

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds.  As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening.  Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening.  Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers.  These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Back and Forth

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70.  Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Posted by Chris Lambert

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.

Strong Finish

An overall cooler day, but also a great end to the workweek as highs neared 70, low humidity continued and plenty of sunshine dominated the skies.  Now all we need is this to continue through the weekend right?
