The Short Visit

Posted by Chris Lambert

It's great to see that sunshine back with us this morning as yesterday's clouds and mist are now behind us.  It'll be a dry Sunday with temperatures averaging in the upper 40s.

Don't get use to a lot of sun though, as it's quick visit ends as clouds thicken this afternoon and showers move in this evening.  There may be just enough cold air north of route 2 in Worcester County and in SW New Hampshire, that this storm starts as a brief mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.  Accumulations there would be under an inch, but a few slick spots are possible after midnight, into the pre-dawn hours.   For the rest of us... it's a rain event.  Rain will be steady after midnight and continue to be heavy at times until about 7AM tomorrow.

After the early morning steady rain, we'll get some dry stretches between scattered showers through the rest of the day and into the evening.  Temps jump up to near 60 for many in the Boston area, points south and rise into the 50s north of the city. Although, they'll hold in the 40s across southern NH, where the warm front has a tough time getting through.

Heading to the Pats game?  Early tailgating weather is in the low 60s, and holding at least into the mid 50s through the game.  Dry stretches are possible during the tailgate and game time festivities, but I'd still prepare for scattered showers.  Most of the showers won't work through until midnight and there after as the actually cold front heads in.

Cooler and drier weather rules the rest of the week.

Warming Up and Unsettled

Posted by Chris Lambert

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east.  Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity.  It'll also be unsettled at times.

Pulling The Fade

Posted by Chris Lambert

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds.  As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening.  Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening.  Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers.  These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Back and Forth

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70.  Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Posted by Chris Lambert

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.
