Clouds and a few scattered showers start this weekend, but for many of us, we'll see more dry hours than wet this weekend.
The showers this morning from Boston, north and west, tend to be light, and on and off. After lunchtime, don't expect much leftover rain near the city or inland as we slowly dry out with even a few breaks in the overcast possible.
Some of the heavier showers and storms early this morning, rocked parts of SE Mass, including the Cape and Islands. For you folks, a cool front slow to push offshore will spark the occasional shower of thunderstorm, not only this morning, but into the afternoon. Although the rain chance is around all day from Plymouth to Fall River, points south and east, there will be some dry times as well in between these scattered storms.
Heading to Gillette tonight? I think we're good for the Springsteen concert with mostly cloudy, but dry skies and temps near 70 early this evening, falling back into the 60s.
The forecast for Sunday looks better with clouds and some sun. Clouds hang toughest across the Cape and Islands, with even a passing morning shower possible for you folks in the morning.
Another chance of rain moves in from dinner time Monday to breakfast time Tuesday, with the highest chance for rain across SE Mass and RI, although showers may extend even north and west of Boston overnight Monday.

Rain and drizzle continues tonight as temperatures drop into the mid 30s to 40 degrees. Any burst of heavier precip drags down colder air, and elevations above 1000 feet in northern Worcester County or southwester NH see wet snow mixing in overnight. No shovels or plows needed for us, but it is a sure sign how cold the atmosphere is for late May. As of this writing, Mt. Mansfield in VT has picked up 7.5" of snow and Whiteface Mtn. in NY has picked up 18"!

So it's the unofficial start of summer this weekend and officially, the average high this time of year hits 70 degrees. So you'd think we have a good shot at BBQ weather right? Not much of a chance today with highs reaching near 50 this morning, only to fall back into the low to mid 40s this afternoon as a cold rain settles in.

Rain, rain, rain...
...but for many today was a day of hurry up and wait. Sure there were showers, but not every minute was washed out. With the events unfolding tonight, that's about to change.
