Fans wait hours for Shane Victorino's autograph
BOSTON (WHDH) -- The Red Sox are getting a hero’s welcome wherever they go and Shane Victorino’s trip to the Downtown Crossing Macy’s was no different.
Friday night Victorino greeted the crowd of 200 people, many of whom waited for several hours to meet him.
"I’ve got to get this autographed by Shane Victorino today, I’ve been here since 1," Sean Greene said.
Victorino became a fan favorite when he hit a grand slam against Detroit in the ALCS and a three-run double in World Series Game 6.
"Now to be considered a World champion here in Boston, it can't be any better. I'm a special lucky individual, and I'm going to enjoy every minute,” Victorino said.
Fans say Victorino was a major part in winning the championship.
“I'm going to say thank you for bringing it home to Boston. Boston Strong. Thank you so much for bringing this back for the city,” Deb Shapiro said,
