Pats hope to have Welker on the field against Colts

UNDATED (WHDH) -- While most of the focus has been on Tom Brady and Colts QB Andrew Luck, the receivers on the other end of their passes are just as important.
Luck has Reggie Wayne, who's leading the NFL in catches and Brady, of course, has Wes Welker -- at least, he hopes so.
The Patriots' "slot machine" was on the practice field Friday for the first time this week after spraining an ankle last Sunday against the Bills.
Welker is officially listed as "questionable" on the team's injury report, but it would be shocking if he wasn't out there this Sunday when the Patriots host the colts at Gillette
"They’re a 6-3 team and playing really good football right now with a young group of guys. Reggie Wayne's playing really well, and the defense flies around pretty good, so, I’d say it's still a pretty big rivalry," said Welker.
With Aaron Hernandez expected to miss his 3rd game in a row, Welker's presence becomes that much more important to the success of the Patriots' offense.
