BOSTON (WHDH) -- A star sprinter is looking to make a move.

The New England Patriots signed silver medal-winning sprinter Jeff Demps.

Demps was a college football star at the University of Florida and competed for the United States Men’s 4x100 relay team at the London Olympics.

The 22 year old did not race in the final heat, but did run for the U.S. during qualifying as part of the silver medal-winning team team.

Demps has not reported to training camp yet and Bill Belichick once again put on his best poker face when asked to give a scouting report on Demps.

“He’s a running back. He’s returned kicks, he’s fast. I’m sure you can dig that out. We scout all the players that come out in the draft. He wasn’t at the combine and he didn’t have a spring workout so we didn’t have that interaction with him,” said Belichick.

Demps is more than just a sprinter -- he racked up over 2,400 career yards rushing and 25 touchdowns in four seasons at Florida. He is the only athlete in the school’s history to win NCAA championships in two sports, football and track.

The Patriots weren’t the only team interested in signing Demps. The New York Jets were said to be recruiting him with the help of Demps’ college quarterback, Tim Tebow.
