BURLINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Needham native Aly Raisman returned to her Burlington gym on Tuesday, which was her first full day back in the Bay State since making the United States Olympic Gymnastics team.

“Just being announced on the Olympic team is such a dream come true. It’s such an honor to be able to go to London and represent my county. I can’t wait,” said Raisman.

Raisman returned to Brestyan's American Gymnastics Club in Burlington, the gym where she reached her elite status, on Tuesday. It’s also where dozens of other young gymnasts are getting their start. They welcomed Raisman back home on Tuesday.

“I told [the younger gymnasts] thank you so much for all the support. They are the best teammates I could have asked for. I appreciate them so much. [I told them] to just always believe in themselves and never give up,” said Raisman.

Raisman returned to Boston late Monday night to a welcoming crowd.

“We landed at about 11 at night so I was pretty tired. We were walking down on the escalator and I saw all of my school friends there and my family, so it was such a huge surprise and I’m so happy to see them. It was really amazing that they were there to support me and it felt really great to have them,” said Raisman.

Raisman is one of five women on the gymnastics team that was announced Sunday night.

What’s next for Raisman?

“I’m going to Texas on Wednesday and we’re there for about a week. Then we go from there to London. So I’m just going to work harder than ever and just try to stay focused and to do the best that I can for Team U.S.A.,” said Raisman.
