BOSTON (WHDH) -- Two of the newest faces for the Bruins are making their mark on this year’s team.

“For myself and Dougie, it’s pretty easy coming into a team that’s really established,” said Chris Bourque.

“When the coaches believe in you and give you an opportunity, it builds your confidence. And you just got to try and play your best,” Dougie Hamilton said.

For Dougie Hamilton, a first round draft pick in 2011, and Chris Bourque, the son of Bruins great Ray Bourque, their best hasn't gone unnoticed.

“The one thing that you want out of players coming in for the first time is that they don’t hurt your hockey club. And both those guys haven’t,” said Claude Julien, Bruins head coach.

Even with Dennis Seidenberg missing two games with an injury, Hamilton raised his level of play, earning his first NHL point.

“We’ve got four or five guys that can step in. So it’s really comforting to have guys step up and play a good role,” Seidenberg said.

While Hamilton and Bourque are enjoying lives as a Bruins, some of the veterans told 7News, "wait until they pay for our dinner during rookie night.”
