Identity hearing set for Las Vegas Strip suspect
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A man named as the suspect in a shooting and fiery crash on the Las Vegas Strip has made his first appearance in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The hearing Monday lasted only about a minute, resulting in the judge scheduling an a March 14 hearing to determine if the man is, in fact, Ammar Harris, the 26-year-old sought in the Feb. 21 violence that left three dead.
Harris did not speak during the hearing, nor was a plea entered. He was represented by a public defender during the first step toward extraditing him to Nevada.
