'Little Darth' actor recovering after surgery

LOS ANGELES (WHDH) -- The young boy who played Darth Vader, in a popular Super Bowl ad is recovering from successful open heart surgery.
Max page remains in the ICU and doctors say the first 48 hours following the surgery are the most critical. They also say max is showing incredible strength.
“We’re pleased with his progress and his outcome,” Dr. Vaughn Starnes, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, said. “I think everybody was calm and I think Max was more calm than the parents, actually.”
His parents said in a statement it was max who offered them comfort and laughs heading into surgery. His mom said he told everyone he wasn’t scared.
It's the same upbeat attitude max displayed at home just days before.
The 7-year-old was born with a congenital heart defect that affects one in every thousand children born each year.
“Running and playing was becoming very difficult for him and as we know Max he’s a real competitor so he wanted to be able to keep up with his friends,” Dr. Starnes said.
The replacement valve that doctors put in should last between 10 and 15 years.
Doctors expect max to make a full recovery, but he'll have to rest at home for about six weeks.
