WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) -- As storms hit Worcester, flood waters rose so high that cars were having trouble getting through.

All around Worcester, drivers learned the hard way - he water is deeper than it looks.

“I got stuck in the puddle. It stalled right in the middle of the puddle. Two young guys pushed me out, but now it won't start,” said Ben Landry.

Boulevard Garage's tow trucks were out since the rain started. They bailed out 35 cars that were stuck on at least 6 different streets

“The part we try to stress is if one car is stuck, more than likely the other cars behind them are going to get stuck. So we try to t turn around,” said Dennis Richards of Boulevard Garage.

People in Worcester said the storm caused some streets to flood in about a half an hour creating an unwelcome jam, but it’s one drivers in Worcester have dealt with before.

“I've seen this all under water, really bad. Worse than this,” said Bob Alexander.

All the water isn't stopping drivers from thinking that they can push right through.

“We’ve got another car stuck right over here.”

“There's one there and two more up the road,” said Ben Landry.

While the flooding is inconvenient, it isn’t unexpected. One tow truck company said it had 4 tow trucks ready to go once the rain started.
