Mass. police officer killed at construction site

WESTFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- A Westfield police officer has been killed while working a detail at a construction site.
Police said the officer, whose named has not been released, was struck by a dump truck around 7:30 a.m. Thursday on Pontoosic Road in Westfield. He was later pronounced dead at a Springfield hospital.
No other information was immediately released.
