Teen on bike seriously hurt in hit and run

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police are investigating a hit and run that left a 15-year-old on a bike seriously hurt.
He was hit from behind at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses saw the teenager lying under a blanket on the side of Route 27, screaming in pain.
“He was lying down. There was a bike upside down like on its seat with the wheels up, tires up,” said a witness.
“I mean the kid that was with him was standing up. He was just really quiet. But the injured person was on the ground just like, screaming,” said another witness.
EMT’s drove the victim to Boston Medical Center after weather prevented a helicopter from coming to transfer him. The extent of his injuries is unknown, but they are believed to be nonlife threatening.
There are no sidewalks and few streetlights along Route 27.
Police don’t know the make or model of the car that fled the scene. Police are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately.
