Youth hockey coach sent to Fla. to face charges

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WHDH) -- A New Bedford youth hockey coach was sent to Florida to face charges.
Anthony DeSilva is accused of trying to lure young boys online for sex.
Prosecutors said the inappropriate conversations were with two teens in Florida.
DeSilva was arraigned in New Bedford Thursday. He was sent to Florida Friday where he will face 10 counts of trying to lure a child on the computer.
The mother of one of the teens is outraged, but thankful DeSilva is behind bars.
“I just know he’s off the streets and my son’s safe,” she said.
DeSilva, 41, now sits in a Florida jail cell cuffed and in custody just one day after appearing in a Massachusetts courthouse.
No charges against the coach involve local players.
