3 arrested for possibly attacking Quincy officer

QUINCY, Mass. (WHDH) -- Three individuals have been arrested for possibly attacking a police officer in Quincy Saturday afternoon.

The police was off duty at the time, but in uniform and heading to work a detail. He stopped to talk to a man and a woman in the midst of an argument, when several people emerged from a nearby home, possibly with baseball bats. Police are also looking into the possibility that a knife was involved.

The incident occurred near Independence Avenue and Presidents Avenue around 4:30 p.m.

Two men and one woman are now in custody at the Quincy Police Department and officials said the suspects are not cooperating with police.

It is not clear yet if the police officer was attacked and authorities will not elaborate on whether the officer is suffering from injuries. They will only disclose that he is doing fine.
