BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WHDH) -- Three men appeared in court Wednesday after allegedly throwing bottle bombs onto a lawn of a Bridgewater home.

A Brockton judge didn’t find any humor in the alleged “prank” pulled by the three suspects. Now the trio is in custody.

Prosecutors said Ryan Whealan, Daniel Linehan and Erin O’Leary threw six bottle combs at a Bridgewater home early Sunday morning.

“There was a land dispute regarding the neighbors and shortly after he began having confrontations with the defendant Whealan,” said Prosecutor Dante Annicelli.

The victim, Bob Lowder, called police after hearing several explosions. The devices left burn marks on his lawn and sidewalk. The bomb squad had to be called in to detonate the sixth bottle bomb.

Lowder told police he knew who was responsible.

“One of the male voices was known to him and was chanting, ‘Hey neighbor, hey neighbor, how do you like that neighbors?’” said Annicelli.

When questioned, investigators said O’Leary admitted to police that the bottles were mixed with rubbing alcohol and chlorine.

In court, a judge ignored requests from both sides for $500 bail; instead bail was set at $10,000 cash.

“There was an agreement with the supervising assistant district attorney for terms and conditions…basically stay way and $500 cash,” said defense attorney Michael Hanley.

Lowder didn’t want to talk about what happened, but seemed pleased with the judge’s decision.

The suspects will return to court on Oct. 16.
