WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WHDH) -- A Weymouth kennel has had its license suspended one week after a dog died on the property.

According to the Patriot Ledger, the Land of Pawz will not be able to operate for one month.

Investigators said they found unsanitary conditions at the facility, including dried dog feces and an odor of urine inside several fenced-in areas.

A six-year-old bulldog named Cooper died while at the kennel last week.

Cooper's owner, Guy Reynolds, said no worker tried to get help when the dog slumped over, even though the kennel is just six miles from the VCA South Shore Animal Hospital.

Reynolds is planning to sue the kennel.
