Connecticut police seize cache of illegal fireworks
WATERBURY, Conn. (NBC) -- Connecticut State Police have arrested two people accused of possession of illegal fireworks and seized what they called a “cache” of explosives and commercial fireworks.
State police investigated on Monday after receiving information about the sale of illegal fireworks at a residence in Waterbury and found a large amount of explosives and illegal fireworks.
Police arrested Karen Lavallee, 47, and Thomas Cianciola, 44, and charged them with illegal possession of explosives and illegal possession of fireworks.
State police said they developed additional information and executed a search warrant on a mobile storage container behind Brass City Hyundai in Waterbury, where they found and seized an additional cache of explosives and commercial firework.
The FBI New Haven field office assisted in this investigation.
Troopers will apply for more arrest warrants.
