Children suffer minor injuries in RI lightning strike

GLOCESTER, R.I. (WHDH) -- Three children were recovering Monday following a lightning strike in Glocester, Rhode Island.
A five-year-old, a 13-year-old and 14-year-old all said they felt a tingling sensation after a nearby lightning strike during a storm Sunday afternoon.
"They were shocked pretty badly," one man said.
The children were outside at a pre-Fourth of July party, when a bolt of lightning struck the backyard.
"It hit the ground, it probably shocked like five, six of us right off the bat and we kind of got scared, jumped up,” one man said. “But two of the kids were on the floor, underneath just sitting down and they got shocked really bad."
One child suffered burns but everyone at the party is expected to be okay.
