WESTWOOD, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police say a woman and her dog were injured in a hit-and-run crash in Westwood Monday night.

Police say the woman was hit on Washington Street. The victim was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

A witness says the woman is in her mid- 20s and lives nearby. The witness said he saw the woman and her dog laying in the street after being hit.

There is no vehicle description, but both State police and Westwood police are on scene.
