BOURNE, Mass. (WHDH) -- A Wareham man was killed Saturday when a man driving the wrong way struck his car head-on.

This Father's Day, Christopher Elicier was remembered as a devoted family man. The 43-year-old from Wareham was a husband and a father of two - who showed his love right up until the end.

His mother-in-law Patricia Cullen remembers last seeing him, “The last thing he said as he went out the door was ‘love you guys. I'll see you in the morning.’”

Elicier was driving north on 495 Saturday night, when police say a 26-year-old Brockton man heading in the wrong direction struck him head on. Elicier was thrown from his car and pronounced dead on the scene.

Elicier’s son, Jourdan Elicier said, “I just loved him to death - I don't know how I’m gonna do it.”

Jourdan says his dad loved fishing, photography, and his job at Taunton State Hospital. He was on his way to work Saturday night; when he didn't arrive, his wife knew something was wrong.

“She got in the car and she started up 495 and saw there was an accident,” Cullen said.

The family was mourning this Father's Day, but Elicier's son and godson say the memory of this dad will be close to their hearts every day.

“He was the type of father that I feel a lot of people should have,” Elicier’s godson said. “Type of guy you look up to.”

The other driver remained in the hospital with a severe leg wound Monday morning. Police have not said what charges, if any, the man will face as a result of this accident.
