Andover man brutally beaten in NYC

ANDOVER, Mass. (WHDH) -- A brutal beating on the streets of New York City has left an Andover man fighting for his life.
It happened early Sunday morning outside of a pizza shop on the Lower West Side.
The shocking video shows 24-year-old Kevin McCarron savagely beaten outside a New York City pizza shop by a gang of thugs swinging a tire iron, baseball bat, and blackjack.
Family friend John Baroni says he can't believe how Kevin and his brother found themselves involved in the fight.
The brothers and some other friends reportedly came out of a pizza shop early Sunday morning, found some people sitting on their car, and an argument led to the fight.
“Knowing Kevin and his older brother, they’re great kids. I know they wouldn’t provoke anything. I’d be mad…having someone sitting on your car at the beginning of the morning,” Baroni said.
New York police have arrested two suspects and are said to be looking for half a dozen more.
The cell phone video of the fight was given to “New York Daily News” by a woman who says she was horrified and yelled for someone to call police.
The McCarron's neighbors here in Andover say they're rooting for the boys they call “good kids.”
“You don’t expect it. They’re nice kids, but you never know…at the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Eleanor Everett, a neighbor.
Kevin McCarron was admitted to a New York hospital in critical condition. There was no update on his condition as of Wednesday night.
