BEDFORD, N.H. (WHDH) -- Police released new information in their search for a suspect they said viciously attacked a Bedford, N.H. doctor and his wife during a home invasion Saturday.

Bedford police are working with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the FBI on this case. Officials said they have a mountain of evidence, but no suspect.

Police said Dr. Eduardo Quesada, 52, works as an anesthesiologist and pain specialist at Elliott Hospital in Manchester, N.H.

Quesada and his family were home Saturday night when someone broke inside and attacked the husband and wife, but did not hurt the couple's 3-year-old daughter. Police will not say if the doctor and his wife were in bed or whether or not the attacker had a weapon.

The doctor’s wife has been released from the hospital. Police say during the attack, she was able to run to a neighbor's home and that neighbor called 911.

Police won't say how the attacker got into this house and they won't comment on whether he used a weapon or stole anything.

Police released a description of the suspect on Friday.

“The description is a male, approximately 6-feet tall or taller, wearing a black ski mask and dark clothing. That’s all we have” said Chief John Bryfonski of the Bedford, N.H. police department.

“That’s the only description of the assailant that we have at this point,” said Bryfonski.

The chief is also warning residents to be on guard because the guy may still be out there, ready to invade another home.

“There’s always that possibility. I wish I could say one way or the other. I don’t know,” said Chief Bryfonski.

The attack occurred in an upscale neighborhood dotted with large estate homes. Residents disagree about whether this was a random attack.

“It is very possible. The sort of thing you have to do is be vigilant 24/7 really,” said Julieta Mandell.

“It seems like there’s more to the story so I don’t know. It seems like people are very closed mouth about what they’re saying about the situation so I think there’s a story that has to be told,” said Bo Schlichter.

It is not known if the suspect was accompanied by anyone else.

Quesada remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
