LOUDON, N.H. (AP) -- Officials say a pregnant woman en route to the hospital made a speedy -- and successful -- delivery during a hasty pit stop at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The track's spokeswoman, Kristen Costa, says the scene unfolded when the father-to-be ran inside asking her to call 911 on Friday. Director of Operations Tom Blanchette, who worked 20 years as an emergency medical technician, raced from a meeting to find the baby already had arrived in the backseat.

Blanchette tells the Concord Monitor that he helped the mom and her baby daughter until an ambulance arrived.

Costa says the mom and dad from Belmont were still 30 minutes away from the hospital when they stopped at the race track for help.
