GOFFSTOWN, N.H. (WHDH) -- Former Red Sox slugger Kevin Youkilis is pitching in to save the season for a New Hampshire youth baseball league.

Investigators believe a lightning strike caused a fire that destroyed a field house and thousands of dollars worth of equipment in Goffstown, N.H. over the weekend.

Youkilis’ youth program, Youk’s Kids, plans to donate up to $20,000 to replace the lost equipment.
