NH man completes national anthem marathon
NASHUA, N.H. (AP) -- A New Hampshire man says he's set a world record for singing the most national anthems at public events in a year.
Alan St. Louis, of Nashua, sang the Star-Spangled Banner on Saturday at Nashua's Holman Field before a Futures Collegiate Baseball League game. That gave him 217 events in 365 days.
St. Louis told WMUR-TV that the Guinness Book of World Records doesn't have a category for anthem singing, so all he has to do is submit an application with witness statements.
Beginning his anthem marathon on July 8, 2011, St. Louis has sung at events with crowds ranging from five, at a college softball game, to 12,000, at a New England Revolution soccer game.
