MIDDLEBORO, Mass. (WHDH) -- A woman is recovering after being hit by a float during Middleboro’s Fourth of July parade.

Her foot was caught under the wheel as she walked next to the float on Plymouth Street.

The incident stopped the parade for a short time.

A witness says he was right there when it all happened.

“The girl was walking by the float and the skirt of the float happened to catch her leg and the tire just bumped over her foot it wasn't that bad,” he said.

The witness says the woman did fall down but wasn't seriously hurt.

Police and an ambulance were also on the scene.

The parade resumed a short time later.
