DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- The chairman of the Durham Town Council says the New Hampshire town's request that the Obama campaign pay for local expenses during the president's visit has been settled.

Council Chairman Jay Gooze said Sunday that an anonymous donor has agreed to pay up to $20,000 to cover town costs associated with the visit.

The town asked that local expenses for Monday's Obama for America campaign stop be covered by the campaign. Gooze said the town's request was not motivated by partisan politics.

Durham officials say Obama's visit on Monday is expected to cost the town an extra $20,000 to $30,000 in overtime payments.

Obama is scheduled to speak Monday at Durham's Oyster River High School.
