Hospice nurse accused of selling heroin
MALDEN, Mass. (WHDH) – A hospice nurse appeared in court Thursday accused of selling heroin out of her patients’ homes.
Police say Maria Johnson Kelly sold several bags of the class A drug to undercover detectives.
“The Malden police drug detectives have been doing an investigation on this defendant for a length of time. They’ve observed her distribute heroin from patient’s homes,” prosecuting attorney Anna Evans said.
During a search of Johnson Kelly’s house police seized several bags of heroin, drug paraphernalia and more than $2,000 in cash hidden in a sock drawer.
Johnson Kelly plead not guilty to the charges and was released on $500 bail.
