Beverly man makes plea for bail money on Facebook
SALEM, Mass. (WHDH) -- David White of Beverly appeared in court Wednesday for a charge of disturbing the peace. Police arrested the 19-year-old over the weekend at a large underage drinking party.
After his arrest, officers gave White a cell phone to make a call. Instead, he used it to post a plea for bail money on Facebook.
“Very unusual, I’ve never seen this in my experience where anyone has made a Facebook request, or Myspace request in order to get bail posted. Typically it’s a telephone call,” said Paul Moraski, defense attorney.
According to his attorney, White couldn't remember any phone numbers, which is why he used Facebook.
