LAWRENCE, Mass. (WHDH) -- Questions were raised in Lawrence over whether Mayor William Lantigua broke the law.

A woman named Mayra Lantigua was recently appointed to chair the city's licensing board.

She was once married to William Lantigua, and it's actually not clear if the two are still married.

Her initial two-year appointment to the board expired in 2007.

Some city councilors are questioning whether the mayor violated anti-nepotism laws.
