Falling tree brings down power lines in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- Whipping winds from Hurricane Sandy caused a tree to fall onto a truck in Wilmington, trapping one person inside.
Neighbors say a man was driving on Shawsheen Road when are large pine tree came crashing down on top of his truck bringing live wires down with it.
A witness said he was walking his dog when he heard a deafening sound. He said the man inside appeared to be safe and was communicating with his wife via cell phone.
Police were on scene and the man was removed from the truck. The truck was then removed from the scene.
Crews cut electricity to the neighborhood as a result of the downed tree and power lines. According to power crews, six light poles came down and three will need to be replaced.
7News was told about 500 people were affected and power will not be restored until Tuesday.
