SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WHDH) -- Somerville police are looking for a suspect after he indecently assaulted a woman walking near the Davis Square T station Monday night.

Police say a 32-year-old woman was leaving the Davis Square T stop at about 8 p.m. when a man followed her down Dover Street and grabbed her from behind. She screamed and the suspect took off.

“She was not hurt, she did not require hospital attention. Obviously she’s very emotionally shook up,” said Chief Dep. Paul Upton, Somerville Police Department.

“I think that’s kind of crazy because everybody walks around here and by themselves sometimes and it be dark but I don’t think anyone should do that to somebody else,” one woman said.

“It’s pretty surprising. I haven’t heard much about that kind of thing in the past before it pretty surprising and scary,” another woman said.

Police are increasing patrols in the area and warning women to be aware of their surroundings.
