WESTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- A moose on a morning stroll made its way through a Weston yard.

A stunning sight for the family that rushed to get it on camera.

“The moose just looked right at the kitchen window. She just stared there for two minutes,” said Nyle Linnard.

The visitor arrived at 38 Oak Street around 7:30 in the morning.

An eight foot tall animal, according to an eight year old's estimate.

“It was this high. No this high,” said Linnard.

Peter Linnard and his son watched the moose come from the back of their property, through the yard, and around the front of the house - before bounding across the street toward a reservoir.

“We see lots of deer foxes fishers, coyotes but never a moose and they're a lot bigger in person than you'd think they are,” said Linnard, who caught the whole thing on camera.

The family called police - warning them to watch out for a moose on the move.

“She went swoosh,” said Nyle Linnard.

The animal hasn't made its way back to the Linnard's yard - but there's no doubt the visit left an impression.

“She was young,” said Nyle Linnard, “because she had sparkly slick fur.”

The Linnard’s believed that moose was headed for the reservoir.

Weston Police said they haven’t had any other reports today of moose sightings nearby.
