ALFRED, Maine (AP) -- A judge is holding a hearing to determine whether to move forward with the remaining 13 counts in the trial of a key figure in a prostitution scandal centered at a Zumba dance studio in Maine.

The defense has asked the judge to divide the case into two pieces and continue with 13 remaining counts against Mark Strong Sr. while the state appeals her decision to dismiss 46 other counts.

The hearing was set for Tuesday in Superior Court in Alfred.

It was unclear when jury selection might resume.

The dismissed counts dealt with violation of privacy of convicted prostitution clients who were allegedly videotaped without their knowledge. The 13 remaining counts focus on prostitution.
