Conn. hosts expo to promote electric vehicles
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Connecticut is promoting electric vehicles to improve energy efficiency and help protect the environment.
Middlesex Community College and the state departments of Energy and Environmental Protection and Transportation are hosting an electric vehicle expo on July 9 to display the newest electric vehicle models on the market. The event will also enable attendees to compare different electric vehicle charging stations and lean about Connecticut's plans to expand the number of charging stations in the state.
Environmental officials are working to identify and catalog public electric vehicle charging stations in Connecticut by this fall. The state also will provide incentives to municipalities to install additional charging stations.
The expo is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 9 at Chapman Hall on the campus of Middlesex Community College in Middletown.
