BOSTON (WHDH) -- The MBTA found a crack on a rail between Central and Harvard Stations on the Red Line Wednesday morning.

The crack was on the northbound track. Service was shut down and passengers were bused around the problem.

Commuters were frustrated as they sat underground for about a half an hour before they were able to get through the problem.

The issue was repaired by mid-morning, according to the MBTA. The hope is passengers will have a better commute Wednesday evening.
