BOSTON (WHDH) -- Massachusetts could see strong to damaging wind gusts Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Expect fast-hitting showers and brief downpours through much of the night, but the main rain event will wait until 4 a.m. to 7a.m. Thursday.

The wind will slowly ramp up as the front approaches. Gusts have been near 40 to 50 miles per hour for isolated spots Wednesday evening. From 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. Thursday wind gusts could reach 50 to 60 mph.

The winds may bring down some trees, tree limbs and power lines. This could result in some scattered power outages. Unsecured outdoor objects may become damaged and/or airborne. Hazards will be possible for motorists and pedestrians.
