New Year means new laws for the Bay State

BOSTON (WHDH) -- With 2013 came a list of new laws in the Bay State.
Medical marijuana becomes available by prescription for patients with chronic illnesses.
Officials were working on plans for vending machines to possibly distribute the drugs.
The DPH is still trying to iron out regulations.
Shopping in Massachusetts also goes more high-tech.
A new law no longer requires retailers to put price stickers on each item.
They will now have the option of installing price scanners, for customers to use.
A ban on single-serving water bottles takes effect on New Year’s Day, in Concord.
Concord is the first community in the nation to outlaw the bottles.
They made the decision to improve the environment.
