Trojan giveaway causes stir in Boston
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Hundreds lined up in Boston’s South End Monday for a giveaway that some people wished would go away.
The free giveaway by Trojan was so controversial it originally got booted from City Hall Plaza.
The company said it handed out 10,000 adult devices during the giveaway Monday.
“My mom called me and told me they were giving free things out,” said one woman.
In October, Boston officials stepped in when Trojan wanted to host the giveaway in front of City Hall, arguing against holding what many considered an X-rated event in a family-friendly area.
Some mothers in line on Monday said they just left their children at home.
“We dropped them off and came straight here,” said another woman.
Similar giveaways have been held in New York City, Washington D.C. and Chicago.
