Sandy strands cruise passengers in Boston

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Passengers on a cruise who were supposed to be home ended up in Boston on Wednesday, all because of Hurricane Sandy.
It was chaos for passengers who anxiously tried to get back home to New York, but they couldn’t.
“Ridiculous. Me and my family, we are disgruntled. It is totally ridiculous. We went to Brooklyn to get on the ship to go to Bermuda to end up in Boston,” said Amery Ailes, a frustrated passenger.
The Caribbean Princess left New York Saturday, headed for Bermuda, but to avoid Hurricane Sandy the ship cruised to Boston instead.
“What cruise? We got on Saturday, loaded in Boston and Sunday, and they didn’t let us off the boat until [Tuesday],” said Mindy Blatt, a frustrated passenger.
Returning from a cruise to the Caribbean, but the ship has been out at sea unable to get back to New York. Frustrated passengers on both cruises tried to be understanding.
Passengers are still unsure when they’ll be returning home to New York, it depends on the progress of the cleanup efforts in New York City. For now, thousands of passengers are leaving Boston on buses, cabs or planes.
