BOSTON (WHDH) -- The family of a 27-year-old Realtor who was found lying on the street in Boston spoke out on Wednesday.

Officers on a routine patrol found Steven DiRoberto near Franklin Street and Broad Street in the financial district late Friday night. He was unconscious. DiRoberto was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of his death.

DiRoberto’s step father said he can’t understand any of this.

“This is upsetting for us and everyone who knew Steven. All who knew Steven are shocked at the events that occurred last weekend. Steven was a great man. He was brilliant, highly motivated and driven to succeed no matter what,” said DiRoberto’s step father.

Investigators plan to meet with the family in coming days to discuss their concerns.
