BOSTON (WHDH) -- Authorities are offering a reward to catch thieves behind a string of robberies near the Boston University campus.

There have been four robberies near BU’s campus. The most recent robbery, involving a BU student, happened Tuesday night along Commonwealth Avenue.

The student was approached by three men armed with a handgun. They were described as young men in their early-to-late teens and wearing hoodies. The student was not injured.

Police are looking at three similar cases, all involving BU students, that occurred on Oct. 5 and two others in September. Brookline police are working with Boston police and BU police to try and solve the crimes.

Cell phones, back packs and computers have been taken in the robberies.

“Since the first robbery occurred on Sept. 23 we’ve worked closely as three police departments -- Boston police, Boston University police and Brookline have all engaged in a join investigation. We’ve all increased our patrols in that area since that first robbery. We’ve continued to exchange information. We’ve interviewed numerous persons. We’ve visited numerous schools on our boarders and we’ve been working diligently to try and identify these suspects,” said Chief Dan O’Leary of the Brookline Police Department.

Police released surveillance video of three men who they believe are connected to at least two of the four robberies.

Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in these robberies.

If you have any information contact police -- Brookline Police Department, Boston Police Department or Boston University Police.
