Woman claims GPS landed her on Brookline T tracks

BROOKLINE, Mass. (WHDH) -- A driver took a wrong turn and ended up on the Green Line tracks in Brookline early Monday morning.
The woman was driving on Beacon Street in Brookline when apparently her eyes were on her GPS and she drove onto the Green Line’s inbound tracks. The woman says the GPS told her to make a left turn, so she did.
Police and MBTA workers had to help get her car off the tracks. The driver told police she put her car in reverse and tried to back off the tracks. She also told police she got distracted when her GPS told her to turn left.
“I just moved here a month back and I have trouble, so I’m sure people definitely have trouble,” said Brad Nundi.
“It is kind of a confusing intersection I’ll give her that. But I mean, to go on the tracks?” said Meg Maripole.
It took about 30 minutes to get the car off the tracks. The woman was ticketed for taking the left-hand turn.
