BOSTON (WHDH) -- Your morning commute could soon be more reliable and comfortable.

The MBTA is preparing to update parts of their outdated commuter rail fleet.

The MBTA’s board has agreed to spend more than $150 million to buy seven new locomotives and overhaul 74 coaches.

Eighty percent of the purchase will be reimbursed with federal dollars.
