Big Dig cost an estimated $24.3 billion

BOSTON (WHDH) -- State transportation officials estimate the total cost of the Big Dig to be $24.3 billion, including interest.
The state still owes about $9.3 billion.
Even though the project was finished years ago, payments are scheduled to continue through 2038.
