Meet Carla, Logan Airport's newest employee

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Carla is the newest employee at Logan Airport.
Carla is a virtual assistant that helps guide people through security. She speaks two different languages and she’s here to help.
The life-like hologram is designed to streamline the airport security process, freeing up TSA agents to do other work.
“It’s our goal to help with comfort of our customers as they come into our terminals as they transition into the security process. Carla will assist us in doing that. She will not eliminate any manpower or staffing,” said Edward Freni, Director of Aviation at MassPort.
Tensator, the company behind Carla, has tested the technology worldwide. Logan is the second airport in the US to use Carla, but the first in the US to use her in the security line.
The cost of Carla is $28,000. If the trial run goes well, you can expect to see her in the rest of Logan Airport.
