More than 2-dozen arrested during BPD drug sweep
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Police have arrested more than 24 people after a drug sweep in the city.
Four handguns with ammunition, thousands of dollars, and drugs, including heroin, percocet and cocaine, were collected during the bust.
The Boston Police Department worked with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office during their investigation.
“Drugs obviously drive the violence in our city. It’s very key that we focus on the drugs because behind the drugs are the guns and as you can see this was quite an operation,” acting Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said.
The investigation, dubbed Operation Limestone, stemmed from a complaint about prostitution.
